The town is the native one of Nicolae Ceaușescu, the last Communist president
of Romania. Since its founding, the team promoted consequently, season
by season, in all Leagues. In 1978, to promote in B League, it was "helped"
to win with 18-0, to overscore another rival team. The best performance
was in 1981-82, 4th position in A League. Due to its status, the club
was always a beneficiary of different unofficially arrangements of authorities,
although with limits. In January 1990, the team was dissolved. |
