It was one of the famous pre-WWII clubs of Romania. Founded by merging
of two different teams, Tricolor and Unirea. Tricolor, first named Teiul,
was set up in 1914, in the district of Obor, by some high-school students.
Among first players, Costel R緂ulescu, in 1930's coach and manager of
national Romanian team and founder of the moden national championship
system (by leagues). After WWI, it is champion of Bucharest Region and
plays in the final tournament of national championship. In September 23,
1923 the team wins the first game of a Romanian club against a former-Yugoslavian
(Beogradski Belgrad: 2-1). The other club, Unirea, was founded in 1924,
by merging of Orizontul and Zbur綟orii, in the same district of Obor.
In 1938-39 and 1946-47, the club plays in B League. In 1947-48, due to
Communist regime norms (that stated that all sport associations had to
join a form of trade-union, or a governmental instituion), the team is
taken by Ministry of Internal Affairs and, in May 14, 1948, merged with
another club, Ciocanul, the new team being named Dinamo. |
