Victor Piturca said at Montreux, after the draw, that Romania has real chances of qualification, while Holland is favourite of the group. "I think that Group G is a balanced one. I didn't want Holland as opponent again, but I think they are favourites. Romania will have to fight for qualification with Bulgaria. Slovenia, Belarus, but also Albania are important teams and the results against them will be very important."

Mircea Sandu (chairman of Romanian FA): "I think that it's a balanced group, not too powerful, but neither too weak. It's clear that Holland is favourite, but I hope we will qualify this time without to depend of the results of the rest of the teams till the last moment."

Ionut Lupescu (former international player, now in the staff of Romanian FA): "I hope to take our revenge with Holland. I hoped that we will not meet Holland again, I would have prefered to play with England. On 16 February we will meet at Amsterdam and will decide then the schedule."

Dorinel Munteanu (coach of CFR Cluj, player with most appearences at national team): "If I fell well, I am sure that Piturca will call me again. It's a heavy group. The biggest mistake is to think at revenge with Holland or Slovenia. National team needs Mirel Rădoi in this campaign and I think that he will be called. Important is that Romania to qualify, with or without me."

Ladislau Boloni (coach of Stade Rennes): "At first sight Romania and Holland should qualify without problems. Bulgaria and Slovenia are weaker than Romania."

Razvan Rat (player of Shakhtar Donetsk): "We have the force to finish on first place, but most important is to qualify. We don't have to see the meetings with Holland as revenge; there are dangerous opponents who don't have to be underestimated."

Vassili Khamutovski -Belarus- (former goalkeeper of Steaua, who has transfered yesterday at Tom Tomsk): "I am sorry that we will play against Romania. I wanted to play with Romania just friendly matches. I hope that Romania and Belarus will qualify and Holland will finish on third place. We have chances to qualify because all players of Belarus are playing in foreign championships."

Cristi Chivu (captain of Romania and player of AS Roma): "We don't have to take our revenge in front of Holland. We have to take our revenge in front of own supporters. Romania is capable to finish the group on first place."
