Sporting director of Wisla Krakow, Gregory Mielcarski, said in a press conference that FC National refuses the negotiations for the transfer of Australian player Michael Thwaite at the team trained by Dan Petrescu.
"I have sent a letter in Romania asking that Thwaite to come at Wisla from winter, but we received no answer. On Monday I will send a new letter and I hope that negotiations will start. I hope that chairman of National will understand that we are living in a free world and that a player has the right to choose what club he wants. We will make all the possible that Thwaite to play at Wisla even from now" - said Mielcarski.
"I hope that National will be agreed with my transfer and that I will can come at Wisla soon as possible" - said Thwaite.
On 10 January, Wisla has announced that defender Michael Thwaite has signed a contract for five years, even the Polish club and National didn't succeed to reach to an agreement. The chairman of National, Constantin Iacov, said, before Thwaite to sign with Wisla, that Australian will play second part of the championship at second or third team of the club, because he doesn't want to prolong his contract with FC National.
The contract of Thwaite with Wisla will start on 1 July 2006, because till then he has contract with National. If the two clubs don't reach to an agreement about the leaving in this moment of Thwaite, in summer he will come at Wisla for free.
