Today it was set the schedule of Group G for preliminaries matches of European Championship from 2008. The debut of Romania will be made on 2 September 2006, when we will meet Bulgaria home, the team trained by Hristo Stoicikov being the principal contestant for second place, Holland being the big favourite. The last match of Romania will dispute on 21 November 2007, home too, against Albania.

Reactions after the drawing of the matches from Group G
"At the beginning, us, Dutches and Bulgarians were invited to understand each others, the delegations of the rest of the countries from group being present. There were some misunderstandings, but in the end we resolved them, and after that it continued the discussions with the rest of delegations. In my opinion, it's a good schedule." - said general director of Romanian FA, Ionut Lupescu.

The coach of national team of Romania, Victor Piturca, said: "The schedule is good. It could be better, but also it could be worse. We succeeded to have balanced doubles, which is important for us".

"Holland is the favourite of the group. We and Bulgaria will fight for second place, but I think that the rest of the teams are dangerous, Slovenia, Belarus and even Albania. Probably the first match will play at Constanta, where we have obtained lately good results. But it isn't excluded to go to other cities, like Craiova or Timisoara. If the field from Ghencea (Steaua stadium) is restored, national team will return at Bucharest" - added Piturca.
