In front of 50.000 fans, red-blues didn't succeed the fiesta, just the qualification in eighth finals, after a modest play. The Dutches had the bad inspiration to apear in front of 50.000 people in the colours of rival Dinamo, which irritated more the spectators. Steaua was qualified already, so didn't forced too much. Steaua had some opportunities to score, Goian (18), Neșu (24), Dică (26), V.Iacob, Rădoi and again Goian. Bruggink opened the score with an excellent shot from 18 metres, which brought for Heerenveen a victory for palmares.
