Steaua Bucureşti seems to be a real bogey for Turkish teams, after today's victory succeeding to defeat all the three big clubs from Istanbul: Galatasaray in season 1988-1989 (4-0 and 1-1 in Champion's Cup), Fenerbahçe in season 1997-1998 (0-0 and 2-1 in UEFA Cup) and 2-1 in this evening, with Beşiktaş, in group B of UEFA Cup. On a very cold weather (-3 Celsius degrees) 20.000 fans of Steaua came to encourage their favorites and just after 3 minutes they exulted after Rică Neaga scored. Gabriel Boştină crossed acrobatically in the penalty area from the left side, and Neaga, not being disturbed by any Turkish defender, send the ball beside Ramazan. 7 minutes later, Ibrahim Akim shot from the inside of penalty area but Ghionea rejected. In 19 minute Steaua had a counter-attack from right side, Neaga crossed to Ciocoiu who sent the ball, by falling, in the net of Ramazan. After 20 minutes Steaua-Beşiktaş was 2-0! In 36 minute, the stadium blew up, after Ibrahim Üzülmez was replaced with Daniel Pancu, the Romanian from BJK being "persona non grata" in Ghencea, after many years played at the rival Rapid. Second half was less spectacular, the Turkishs attacked chaotic the post of Hamutovski, but without opportunities to score, and the team of Zenga prefered to stay calm and to counter-attack by Neaga and Diniţă. But today Steaua played with ambition, fighted for every ball, made a destructive pressing and had fantastic supporters. Now the team of Zenga made 6 points (3 with Standard) and has chances to play in European spring.
